Uptown and Center City
Uptown Charlotte, NC
Charlotte, NC is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Our Downtown area in Charlotte is better known as Uptown to locals. The explosive growth throughout the late 1990’s and 2000’s is one of the driving forces behind Charlotte, NC's real estate growth. During the last few years we have witnessed tremendous real estate growth in our uptown / downtown Charlotte condos, lofts, townhomes and other buildings and commercial real estate developments.
The real estate growth including condos, lofts and townhomes; has largely been supported by the banking industry. Bank of America is currently the largest bank in the Country and is head quartered right in Uptown Charlotte. We also have other major banking presence in Uptown with the likes of Wells Fargo, BB&T and Fifth Third Bank.
Not only do we have strong banking presence, but we also have other corporate power houses like Duke Energy, the Hearst Corporation, The Shaw Group, Electrolux to name a few.
Other than having great corporate partners in Uptown Charlotte, we also have a vibrant Night Life featuring events like Alive After Five every Thursday evening starting in the Spring and going well into the Fall months. Plus there are a tremendous amount of restaurants and night clubs within our Uptown / Downtown area. Please go the page labeled Uptown / Downtown Links for additional information.
Last but not least is our professional sports teams that are located right in the center city of Charlotte. We are home to the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, the NBA Charlotte Bobcats and Minor League Hockey Charlotte Checkers. There is also a major proposal and great effort under way to bring the Charlotte Knights (Triple AAA Baseball) into Uptown in the very near future.
